I use nuke studio and in my studio all the material/plates/clips are stored in separated storage (server). This way many user can access the same data on server without need to bring the plates to their own local storage. The good thing is that in nuke studio there's a a LOCALIZATION feature where nuke will generate automatically local version of those plates (a copy in my local storage) -> The clip in the timeline still linked to the server while do the reading from local version - So i can have realtime playback of my 4K 16bit EXR sequence . The system will automatically update/sync the local if source in the server is changed/modified.
Now i'm moving to resolve, unfortunately I can't find this feature in resolve. Did I miss something ? in resolve, I have to manually copy those plates to my local drive and relinked to it. But this way i have to link to the local version - got disconnected from my master clips.
Is is true that resolve doesn't have this 'localization' feature ? what is the best solution ?
