Edit Tab Only Monitoring Left Audio Track

PostMon Apr 09, 2018 9:57 pm

Hi all,
I'm hoping someone may be able to assist with customizing the 'Control Room' monitoring output in Resolve.

I am currently using Resolve to sync RED footage for a feature, using jammed Timecode.
In the Media tab, all is well.
In the Export tab, all is well.
My final exports, all is well.

However, in the Editing tab (which I use to verify correct sync) I only hear audio in the left ear.
This is incredibly annoying.
It is not this way in any other tab.
Is there anyway to have the Control Room (as audio meters are apparently now being called) output mixed down audio to both channels (Left and Right)?

Thank you for any help you can provide!

I still don't know exactly why this is happening...
But I've figured out how to avoid it.

You first need all audio tracks are set to 'Mono' with as many tracks as are contained in your audio clip.
(Especially ones with 6 tracks as Resolve natively sees these as 5.1, or ones with 2 tracks as Resolve natively sees these as Stereo, or ones with 8 tracks as Resolve natively sees these as 7.1)

Then when you create a new timeline with your (in my case, now synced) clips, make sure you select 'Mono' for Audio Track Type.
As far as I can tell, this will now play all tracks into both ears.

If anybody can give any clarifications as to what is actually happening here with the audio assignments in the Edit tab, I would greatly appreciate it!
