1. Add a few nodes and create a macro
2. Delete those nodes
3. Add the macro
4. CMD+P will toggle pass through mode (and adjust on/off 'switch' in Inspector | Tools)
however
5. The on/off switch has no effect on passthrough mode (although does affect 'greyed-out' status of node icon in Flow
