Coping grades across different versions of Resolve

PostFri Apr 27, 2018 1:27 pm

Alright guys, this is a tricky one.

A colorist had done color on 5 episodes of this show I'm coloring, and quit. He had done the color on an already baked version of the videos (not to the raw footage), the director liked his color and asked me to just copy it (and not redo it) to the raw footage. He had exported the project for me to work on but unfortunately, he had worked on some advanced version of Resolve 14, while i have an older version of 14. my dilemma is this: I don't want to upgrade to resolve 15 yet because of all the bugs there are in it, but I can't open the project on my version of resolve.

What i can do is open his project on a different computer with a resolve 15 and somehow copy the his color date from that to my older version, but unfortunately exporting stills with Display lut as DPX didn't do the trick.

is there a way to transfer color data from a newer versions of a resolve project to and older one?

Thanks in advance,
Ziv.

Try installing v14.3 in your system.
You can find it in the BMD web site, support page.
