I've been wishing Resolve adopted Auto Track Naming and Numbering for Resolve's audio tracks and busses to communicate that data (and properly respecting the order of tracks and busses) when Softube Console 1 is plugged into a
USB port on a DaVinci Resolve 15 workstation.
Great News: Maxus, an engineer in Softube's Support section has followed my urging to take a good look at Resolve 15 Beta and see if the Softube Console 1 (hardware/software virtual channel strip plug-in) can be better integrated with Resolve, for us users.
Maxus will attempt to see if Resolve 15's audio Track ordering, naming and numbering can be memorized in Console 1 after users type in Resolve's Audio Track (and Buss) Names and Numbers into the Console 1 environment.
Unfortunately, Resolve does not yet support Automatic Track Names and Numbers as does some other DAW and NLE software.
As well, Console 1 Integration Mode, if implemented in Resolve 15, would be a bonus: Then, changes made in either Resolve or Softube Console 1-- to Solo, Mute, Pan, Master (MAIN) Volume would automatically effect the other, with those changes reflected in their respective GUI.
The Softube Console 1 in my Resolve setup is an awesome addition, providing exceedingly low latency use of Softube plugins and those of their partners (UAD and more), with hands on, control surface action that mimics a physical channel strip.
The Edit Page/Fairlight Page and Softube Console 1 combo (with assist from a Mackie MCU PRO controller), makes for an awesome marriage in desktop audio mixing and mastering in Resolve. Here's hoping it gets even better.
