No 720x576x25 PAL output

PostWed May 02, 2018 5:06 am

Why is there not proper PAL output for 720x576, on any export format.
The only option on the Windows version are:
23.967
24
30
This is another reason why we need a frame serving output option in Resolve.
NTSC, HD and Film are just to dominant in my opinion. I do know that those areas are very important but to open this great system up to so many more serious editors including TV stations, just does not seem logical.
I would love someone to fully explain why this should not be considered as an option.

If those are youre export frame rate options then your project settings are probably in 24 fps.

You need to set the timeline frame rate before placing clips in the Media Pool.
if you set it to 25, then the 720x576 PAL at 25 render option will be available.

I set the project settings to 720x576x25 and imported a ProRes 720x576x25 file into Resolve which it plays fine and the only export options are 23.976, 24 and 30Fps. I have repeated this several time with the same result.
Why is there not a 25FPS option. I just do not get it, if it can export from 23.976 to 30fps why not 25?

I can see the 720x576x25 PAL settings just fine even though my project's settings are FullHD25.

You must be doing something wrong.

You need to set Timeline fps to 25 in Project Settings!
It's not enough to choose 720x576 preset in frame size.

btw. this should be changed. When I choose 720x576 preset project fps should switch to 25fps automatically (same for NTSC and also for playback fps). With old SD formats there is no fps choice like with HD or UHD, so presets should set them accordingly.
