Databases Not Appearing

Have been storing my databases on an external drive and editing from there. However I went to go back into the project today, and the database was not appearing. I tried reconnecting it, but could not get it to work. No matter what folder I tried to connect it to, it would cause a pop-up with "error failed to connect to database" I had originally edited the project on 14, before upgrading to 15. This is the first time I tried to edit the project on 15. Im running the program on Windows and am using a Lacie external drive.
