Problems with nested timelines

PostTue May 08, 2018 3:36 am

Hi all,

Loving Resolve so far, have just come from Premiere and enjoying the newfound freedom of this platform.

I wanted to discuss an issue I've been having, which could be the result of me working with an incorrect workflow. However, here's what I have:

I'm currently working on a short film project, and have organized each scene into its own timeline. These timelines are then combined in a master timeline, where they have color grading applied on a scene-by-scene basis.

I've found that if I update or tweak the edit inside of one of the scene timelines, I then need to force this timeline to update in the master by adjusting the edit points or moving it to a different video track.

Additionally, some pitch adjustment I did in one of the scenes has not carried over to the master. The problem remains even after a restart of the program. Do I need to do some sort of processing on the timeline to force an update?

Let me know if I'm way off base, or if you're having the same problem. Or even if you know a cool way to force clips/timelines to update!

Cheers everyone,
Miles
