"MACOSX" folder causes Clone Tool to error on Windows

PostWed May 09, 2018 7:00 pm

It seems that "MACOSX" folders occasionally left over from macOS break the Clone Tool on Windows.

I downloaded a .zip of a folder from a VFX artist of an After Effects project and some assets. He had been working on macOS.

After extracting the .zip, I wanted to ingest to a ZFS server via an SMB3 share, to take advantage of the Clone Tool's checksum verification, but the Clone Tool would not complete--it just kept throwing a red "Error" message.

After popping open the folder in Explorer and trashing the "MACOSX" folder, the Clone Tool was able to ingest to the server just fine.

This was on 14.3 Studio on Windows 10 Pro.
