Da Vinci Resolve has stopped working

PostSun Apr 15, 2018 10:00 am

Hi everyone

I'm been having this issue with my laptop a couple of times. I had this problem with version 14 where it would crash upon opening a project. Creating a new project of folder also causes the same issue to happen. I reformatted my laptop and reinstalled Resolve and that seemed to fix the problem but a few months later the same problem happened again. I tried installing the new Resolve 15 beta and the same thing is still happening (I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but to no avail). Not sure what the issue is with this laptop (Resolve has been working on my desktop, a Dell Inspiron 15 and even the non-pro Surface 3)

Laptop specs:
Spectre i7-7500U (2.7 GHz to 2.9 Ghz)
16GB Ram
Intel HD Graphics 620 (Driver version: 22.20.16.4836, latest)
Windows 10 with latest updates

Resolve 15.0.0032

Any help would be most greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Finally found what was causing this issue. I use mainly Lightroom and recently launched it and it seemed to have the same issue as Resolve, crashing after an image/project is opened. (installing previous versions of Photoshop CC still had the same issue)

After looking up the internet, I came across a post saying that he uninstalled Duet Display and the problem went away.

True enough, after removing Duet Display (application to use an iPad as a second screen), both Photoshop and Da Vinci Resolve were running fine!
