Limit transition to single clip

PostWed May 16, 2018 10:27 pm

Hi,

I'm using a Push transition in Resolve 14 to push a clip on the right (man sitting on a toilet texting on his phone) upwards into frame. I'd like to limit the transition to that clip, so that the other clip of the man on the bed texting remains in place (creating a split screen shot). However, I can't seem to find a way to do this -- the transition effect always seems to use the other clip and push the whole frame up.

I'm wondering if this is something which is possible with Resolve, or whether I'd need to do it outside of the program? Something similar can be achieved using the position keyframes but it's not smooth enough.

Clip here for reference:

Thanks,

J

I have done this kind of transition before (though not on a toilet), and just used the normal Cropping & Transform controls. There might be a way to do it with Push if you keyframed it.
