Proxy Workflow

PostSun May 20, 2018 2:10 am

Hello,

I am sure this has been posted before, but after almost an hour of searching and reading the manual I cannot find it.

I am editing r3d footage off a NAS, using my MacBook Pro. The performance isn't great (for multiple obvious reasons), so I am trying to use some form of proxy. I tried optimized media, however it does not seem to be terribly reliable. I rendered proxies using the media management tab, but I cannot figure out how to correctly link them in place of the r3d files until it is time for delivery.
I looked at the reconform options, but it seems those are only available for timeline clips, and I have proxies rendered for everything in the media pool.

Does anyone have a good place for a tutorial on proxy workflows?

Thank you,
Jack

I've done a series of proxy workflow tutorials for Resolve. Check this one for example:

There are others in the series as well starting with Resolve 12.5 but things changed in Resolve 14 a little.
