Resolve "Lite" Version

PostMon May 28, 2018 9:51 am

Although I welcome all the changes and the innovation of resolve and the current V15 updates but with all these changes Resolve becomes and CPU intensive hungry monster. I'm having now to consider upgrading my system to cope with all the processing power needed. How about having a version of resolve with just the colour grading and editing features? I'm not a fusion user and can't see me using it and I use separate audio software for editing Audio. Yes I understand you want to make it a one stop shop, but I just want to edit and colour grade. Can I have a Resolve 'Lite" version please.

Hi Hugh.

If you look at this page on the Steakunderwater website you will see a tip on how you can disable the Fusion and Fairlight pages in Resolve 15. This will give you exactly what you are asking for where you will be left with just the Media Pool, Edit, Color, and Deliver pages.

Hiding the pages won't give you more performance. You'll need a more powerful computer if your current one isn't cutting it.

If you don’t select or use the Fusion page there is no extra burden.

In fact, v15 is more optimized in many areas so any performance issues should be reported to see if they are beta bugs. No need to try to disable pages.
