Update on nVidea next generation GTX Graphics Card.

PostTue Jun 05, 2018 10:29 am

Hi.

Nearly all rumors on the Internet says that Nvidea's Next generation Graphics Cards was expected around August.

But yesterday NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang told, that they are still long away. It happen at nVidea's Computex 2018 press conference Q/A session. Here is a 30 min long YouTube of it. The questen 'When is the next GeForce?' is at 13:00 :

But they had some sound problems. Here are some written comments from participating people:

'Q: Is GPU supply normalizing? A: Yes, supply has stabilized.

Q: When is the next GeForce coming to market? A: A long time from now. Jensen promises he will invite us out for the launch.'

And

'Q: When is Volta coming to gaming? A: So many gamers were deprived of GeForces due to mining,
but now pricing is coming down. 1080/Ti are the best cards right now, we suggest they buy GeForce ASAP

Q: When is the next GeForce? A: I'll invite you. There will be lunch. But it's a long time.'

The last rumor I read, was that Stuart Oberman from nVidea was scheduled to speak about 'nVidea's next generation mainstream GPU' at Hot Chips 30 symposium August 20th. But this has now been removed from the schedule.

So I don't know what to believe. I think that Jensen Huang was caught by surprise with this questen, but he must be used to it, as CEO of nVidea.

When do you expect it to arrive?

Regards Carsten.

I'm guessing now that nVidia will launch the Volta for consumers when AMD launches the successor to Vega. :)

Thanks for the heads up.

At this rate, AMD cards are becoming more interesting. Nvidia is turning into Valve Software :D

Propietary drivers with Resolve are the big issue. With Mesa support, Vega would deliver more.
