Video Data Levels

If changing the data levels in Clip Attributes between Auto or Video and Full, there is quite a difference. Which, if either, is the correct one to use as a starting point for grading? Footage is from a Canon G40.

It doesn't matter that much if you are going to grade it, but based on scopes (and fact that typically cameras like G40 record limited range) Limited looks to be correct.

Should be limited but note that many cameras record super whites, those have to be brought down in post.

Thanks guys. The more I use Resolve and read posts in the forum, the more I discover. This question was prompted by an earlier post on levels from a Sony FS7.

Resolve most likely won't clip data if you misinterpret, so it doesn't matte that much.
It's your job during grading to bring levels, contracts, colors where you want them.
