R15b5 : Probable bug in Current Clip selected

PostSun Jun 24, 2018 2:41 pm

COLOUR TAB : In my attempt to try copy a node from one CLIP to another (unsuccessful so far) - I noticed that is seems arbitrary if the CURRENT CLIP that you are on gets highlighted.

Sometimes it is - sometime its not.

Eg
1) Select a new clip by clicking on the clip in the COLOUR TAB clip.
2) The bottom section of the screen (below the CLIP timeline is always updated immediately).
3) Wait 30 secs .. and (see attachment) - sometimes the CURRENT clip in the timeline does NOT update.

<edit> I uploaded images of when it works .. when it fails, the RED box is around the wrong clip (see Post below this one for an example)

AJ

PS : I was sure that you used to be able to Copy (Control-C) and paste (Control-V) nodes in Beta4 .. I've be trying to find if there is mention if this functionality has changed in the manual (or if I there is hidden setting that prevents node copying)

Got the error again (and this time didn't delete screenshot!).

Actions included :
+) Delete all cache
+) Smart cache on
+) Attempted (and Failed) to copy a node from one clip to another (COLOUR TAB)

And and some Resolve seems (unless I am misinterpreting what the Red Box around a clip means) - didn't update around the current clip.

I found a workaround to Cut and Paste nodes:

1) COLOUR TAB : <Enable Clips>
2) Select the node you want to cut and paste
3) Make sure that the current node that you are on has a RED Box around it in the clip timeline.
3) You can select multiple nodes (ie lassoo an highlight)... but only one is copied
4) Select the Picture CLIP (option Click)
5) Colour (menu) : Append node to selected clip.

Perhaps that Node Copy and Paste functionally never existed?

Hmm.

So :

+) Cut (ctrl-x) and Paste DOES work.

+) Copy (ctrl-c) and Paste DOESN'T do anything.

Still can't work out definitively if this is a BUG or not.

<UPDATE> Err . After reloading the project ... it looks like the PASTE change didn't actually work.
I am going to wait until the next BETA before attempting NODE cut and Paste as I can't work out what is supposed to be happening.

Here is another example:

1) The 'Clips' Thumbnail shows CLIP2
2) The Node Graph shows CLIP2
3) The Timeline shows we should be display CLIP4
4) The Main view is showing CLIP4
5) The bottom section (Motion Effects) is showing CLIP4

I am guessing that somewhere - the App is not getting the signal that the playhead has switched clips.

Attempting Select node (in CLIP4) -> Colour (menu) : Append node to selected clip (CLIP3)

Caused a strange result in the Node Graph of CLIP4

It looks like the node is DEACTIVATED.

In the clip attached - it was the NR node that I had added - and it now looks Bypassed in CLIP4.

I'm having an issue in 15b5 Linux Resolve Studio where the playhead isn't moving during playback and its hit or miss whether or not the clip you have selected gets color corrected.

Chip,

Have a look at the following - its a video that gives insight into whether the drawing of timeline CLIPs is given LOWER or HIGHER precedent.

The effect of this can be to trade off VIEWER framerate vs CLIP IN TIMELINE update.
