Copy retime curve to other FX properties like blur strength?

PostTue Jul 03, 2018 2:50 pm

Hey all,

I am hoping there is a way to copy the animated curve from retime... to properties of other FX. In particular, I am gradually slowing down, freezing then speeding up a few seconds of video in many clips. The idea is to highlight something in the frame by smoothly slowing it down, freezing then speeding back up, and at the same time its slowing down everything outside of the power window de-saturates and gets somewhat blurry, drawing focus to the power window area that is still in color and focused.

I have been able to do this manually by using retime.. putting a freeze frame, then adjusting the curve on either side to get a smooth slow down, freeze then speed back up. Works really nicely. I then go in to color, put a power window around the subject, and attempt to motion track it if need be (I am really bad at this). I then add a blur OpenFX and a color OpenFX and animate the parameters in sync (as best I can) with the slow down, freeze and speed up.

The thing is, I gotta do this repeatedly for many clips.. but every clip has different start/end times for the overall combined animated FX.

I was hoping there was a way to either create some sort of template and then paste it to a clip and adjust the offset of the 3 parameters (and match it to the power window)... or if there is a way I can copy the animated curve of the retime.. then paste it to the blur strength and color change FX so that they perfectly match the same curve.

The retime curve essentially goes from 100% to 0.. holds.. then back up to 100%.

Thanks
