Alpha, Resolve and compound clips

PostSun Jul 08, 2018 3:04 pm

My biggest gripe with Resolve is working with multiple alphas. I am a motion graphics artist, stacking multiple layers is a daily task. at times I like to loop animations in effort to save on render times. At other times I like to group layers in an effort to grade items together... this is where my problems with resolve start and end.. I love the application but this one bug is keeping me from absolutely loving it. Symptoms: Upon Creating a compound clip consisting of multiple layers with alpha, the alpha channel turns black. Perhaps there is something i'm missing, a button to push? Changing the layer to ADD does not work for me since I use the color black in my color pallet.
This problem is sporadic, I have had layered clips successfully merge to compound clips. This problem occurs regardless of file format, I use OpenEXR though I did test other formats and found the problem to persist.
