Clone Tool overwrite protection or counter?

PostSun Jul 08, 2018 8:46 pm

Hi there!

I've been trying to find the option to turn on an overwrite protection or some sort of counter/ naming option to avoid my copies being overwritten. I got several SD cards and my camera always formats them to the same name. So for every new clone job I have to create a new folder in finder first and add those new folders as source in the clone tool. If I would forget to do that only once it would overwrite my previous clone. Is there at least a overwrite protection option somewhere where I cannot find it?

Thanks for your help! I just switched from Premiere to Resolve and I love it! Only the clone tool scares me a bit because of the above reasons. :)

Regards

Marco

I'd rather care for separate folders anyway. You need to organize those files from amateur cameras carefully or you'll run into problems later when you need any re-conforming or roundtripping to there software, simply because the always use the same names.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.
