Cannot Open Beta 15.. OR go backwards now!

PostMon Jun 25, 2018 11:56 am

I had Resolve 12.5, then 14 and all tickety boo.. After launching Beta 15b_02, I get to the splash screen and then....nothing! The prog will just not start. I've done cycles and uninstalls/installs, with the same outcomes. I tried to go back to 14, but found a major issue 'Local Database Incompatible' that I couldn't resolve. Now I do not have a working Resolve option at all.. Anyone got any ideas please?

Thanks,
Mowster 29

As a start, we'd need a Resolve log and a Windows System Information .NFO file.

Your System Information file appears to be corrupt. Please save it again, and then double click it to be sure it opens.

Without an NFO, its hard to tell, but from the Resolve log, it appears you are on a laptop. If you have an external display connected, remove that, and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks Dwaine,

Try again with V2! The forum will not accept .nfo uploads.. Can you advise an installation route back to V14.3 please?

Many thanks,
Colin

Try v15b6, just released.

You can post a range of links on the forum to third party storage sites, like dropbox, with a space in the path so it does not look like a link to the forum.

Hello Peter,

Thanks for your reply. Matthew Neave in your EMEA support team has kindly helped me get back to V14.3 - so I'll stick with this until you issue the official V15 release. Would you kindly close this thread.

Many thanks to you all @ BM

Regards,
Colin

I keep getting the same error... It opens ONCE (Startup/Welcome Screen) then it crashes and I get this "Assertion failed" P_socket error and i cannot even open Resolve 14 or 15. It after that just opens in Task Manager and sits idle using no ram.

I have uninstalled (registry and all) multiple times and i cannot get anything to work.

I was responding to Scott.

If you'd like to link to a Resolve log file and Windows System Information .NFO file, that might be helpful.

attached dropbox link to the Resolve log file (although Resolve just closes/sits idle after the Welcome Screen - and uses like 100mb of RAM) and also uploaded to the system nfo.

took a photo of the error i get after welcome screen - this then never shows up again, and the program never opens. It doesnt ever appear again - just nothing happens. I am frustrated as can be, i've been using Resolve for over 2 years now and this only happened recently with the new beta. I also cant install 12, 14, etc it doe the same error. I am thinking of formatting, but its crazy.

Go into the system BIOS, Chipset area, and change the state of the Internal Graphics setting.

In earlier Resolve 15 versions, we needed the internal Intel graphics disabled. But then in later versions, it seemed we needed the Intel graphics enabled.

I have no machines like this, so no direct experience. But the Windows error log shows issues with the Intel graphics, so I'm hopeful changing the state of the Internal Graphics setting makes Resolve happy.

Along with that, don't connect any displays to the onboard video connectors. Connect any displays to the GTX1060 card.
