Slow-mo Audio issues in exporting AAF

PostFri Jul 06, 2018 3:15 am

Hi guys

Recently I'm finishing a project and have to export a Protools AAF to our audio engineers.
What I'm encountering now is I have 2 reels with slow-mo audio. I actually reset my slow-mo audio to realtime, export the AAF, and check with our audio engineer, we found that the audio tracks with the slow-mo audio actually shifted, particularly AFTER the parts with slow-mo audio. The before was fine.

For the purpose of testing, I removed all the slow-mo audio in these 2 reels, and re-exported the AAF, but it seems like it doesn't solve the issue.

The AAF was exported with Davinci Resolve 15 Beta 4.

I’m not sure if I completely understood your post. There was something similer that happened to me in the past where I exported AAF to Pro Tools with a timeline that has some slow motion audio clips.

First problem: All my slow motion audio clips did’t render out in its slow speed rather it rendered out in its normal speed.

Second problem: All the audio clips that came after these slow motion clips have shifted in time and went out of synch.

Potential Solution: In Resolve, Put every slow motion audio clip inside a compound clip in order to let it render out in its slow speed.

I Haven’t tested this solution yet, but I’m planning to test it on my current project.

In my case I needed my slowmo audio to be back to real time, we decided to let the audio engineer to work on the real time audio instead.
Our audio engineer requested we export as separate tracks instead for some parts of the audio. It's double the work now.
