Error starting Resolve with Windows 7

PostFri Aug 03, 2018 12:02 pm

Hello,

I installed DaVinci Resolve 15.0b7_Windows. Starting the program I get the message

"Der Prozedureinsprungpunkt "DeleteCriticalSection" wurde in der DLL "api-ms-win-core-synch-l1-2-0.dll" nicht gefunden"

This is german and means that the "DeleteCriticalSection" was not found in the DLL "api-ms-win-core-synch-l1-2-0.dll"

Does anyone know how to solve this problem and get the program started?

Use Windows 10, Resolve is not intended to work with older versions.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

The solution is not apparent at this point. It's been reported before, but similar issues have been reported with Win10 as well.

R15 does run without issue on Windows 7, though the practice isn't recommended. Whether it can be made to work on your current installation is impossible to answer, until someone figures out why this error message appears.
