[SOLVED] 15b7 dual line Fusion Titles only with Unix EOL

PostMon Jun 18, 2018 12:10 pm

Hello,
I created a new title template from a copy of the "3D Lower 3rd Rotating Plane 2 Line.setting" file.

Line 146: StyledText = Input { Value = "Two Lines with \n Plane Background" }, uses UNIX style \n end of line character, which works fine in Windows when newly dragged on to the timeline.

On my Win10 Pro system though the /n character is converted into a Windows style end of line: \r\n while saving the project.
So every time I open a project, I get an extra line break due to \r\n which brings the title out of allignment.
This behavior also makes it impossible to edit 2 line Fusion Titles on my Windows system.

Please fix the Fusion Titles so they accept all Windows (CR LF), Unix (LF) and Mac (CR) end of line styles as only one line break.

Thank you,

Hello,
the problem remains in R15b7.

Is there a chance to get the bug fixed?

Thanks,
Udo Jansen

the /n character is converted into a Windows style end of line: \r\n

Are you editing a copy of the setting file outside of Resolve? if yes, which text editor are you using?

I've tried similar scenarios on OS X and Windows with some simple edits and am not able to see this issue (not even the appearance of CRs in the settings file) - so we will need more info.

Could you send us a copy of your new settings file? A sample drp project export file that shows this issue would help too.

Thanks
Shrinivas

Thanks for looking into this Shrinivas.

I use the latest version of Notepad++ to edit the *.setting files and save the modified copies with the same Unix EOLs (LF) as I find them in the ...\Fusion\Templates\Edit\Titles folder.

Attached is one example.

When I first drag the title on to the timeline, everything is OK.
Once I save the project and re-load it later, the title text is shifted upwards.

Ok,

I've examined the settings file and tested this on multiple platforms alongside the "3D Lower 3rd Rotating Plane 2 Line" ... Apart from the intended changes as per the settings file (lighting, color, positioning etc) I can't see any other issues - no CRs in the settings file, no issues with the way Resolve reads it.

You may want to check if it happens on other machines... It might also be worth using a diff tool to slowly unroll your customisations and see which change causes this on your system.

Shrinivas,
I could not check in 15b7, but in 15b8 the problem is solved.

Thank you,
