Offline Media - Urgent

PostMon Aug 13, 2018 6:16 pm

** Edit**

I think I fixed the problem. A file named m3dia80.dll dated from 2006 located in the root folder for the drive apparently was causing the problem. As soon as I copied it to the new cache location, everything came back online.

Hey guys,

I've been scouring multiple forums looking for a solution to a problem that has cropped up and I haven't been able to find anything that works, or even resembles the exact issue I'm having.

I'm colour grading a long (75 minute) project that was shot on 2 cameras (a Red and a Sony A7S I believe). I've been working on the grade for about a week and a half and having no problems. I opened the project yesterday to do finishing touches and 70% of my timeline has gone offline. The media had not been moved, changed, or renamed at all. The offline media is not specific to footage from one camera or the other, it is affecting both. I am working off the original media, not proxies. All the media is stored on a separate, external drive from the OS drive.

The only things that changed from one day to the next is that my 2 tb cache drive got full, so I removed some stills from the gallery in resolve (don't know if this removed them from the .gallery folder?) in an attempt to save space and switched the cache drive. If I create a new still and re-apply the grade to an offline clip, it comes back until I select the tracker or make a change, and then it goes offline again.

All of the media in my media pool is still online, but in the timeline and the monitor for the colour tab it's offline. In the edit tab, the media shows up in the timeline but is offline in the monitor.

My deadline for this project was today and I've spent hours scouring the internet for a solution and come up empty-handed. I throw it out here in hopes that someone has encountered this before or is smarter than I with this kind of thing.
