1. Optimized Media is lost after loading backed up project.
After crash and opening a backed up project file (in Project Backups menu) — optimized media will be gone. "Rediscover Optimized Media" does nothing. Though if you Generate Optimized Media — it crates a new folder in Cache Files Folder. I assume it doesn't see/use a previous folder anymore.
Workaround: I've stopped using Optimized Media all together.
2. Name %functions on dual-display are on the right.
Little bug. When in Dual-display and trying to use name % functions directly in the bin (not using Clip Attributes) the list of Functions appear on the other monitor, instead of being below the current clip name.
Workaround: Just look for the list on the other monitor, it is still possible to manipulate it using arrows.
3. Bin columns reset after exit.
After closing and reopening DaVinci the columns in the bins will be reset to default.
Workaround: Load your Workspace Layout Preset.
4. Very loud pop during playback.
Can't figure out if it got fixed or not. Haven't had it in a while, but what was happening is very loud audio track pop would hit your ears every time you press Spacebar for Play. Audio Scrubbing is turned on.
Workaround: Close and reopen this timeline.
5. CR2 import problem.
CR2 files from Canon 80D being imported looking very purple and also not in the original resolution, and also with unequal black bars along edges. If converting to DNG first — then it crashes when trying to import DNG files. Other converted DNGs imports are okay.
No workaround without using third-party apps.
I think these two were addressed already in the latest Beta:
6. Some folders get a Date Created as Wed Dec 31 1969 16:00:00.
7. Linked audio tracks are out of sync, even though the waveform is correct.
8. Linking more then 4 audio tracks.
I'm syncing two MXF camera files and one WAV audio files (with 4-6 mono tracks) based on timecode. When opening this clip in Source — sound plays fine, but if added into the Timeline (with 6 mono tracks) it will make all only top four audio tracks in sync with video. Tracks 5 and 6 are out of sync.
Workaround: Resync it again, create a Multicam with that clip and copy from there into the correct timeline, then Match Frame it and drag only sound.
9. Crashes whole computer when trying to put Canon 5D IDT to an MOV file.
This one is bizarre. ACES is on. MacBook freezes if trying to apply ACES Input Transform as Canon 5D to an 6000x4000px ProRes 4444 MOV file, that is exported from After Effects.
10. (Already fixed)
11. Changing the Audio Source Channel won't keep the same in-point.
On the timeline I have 4 audio tracks, but I know that WAV file has 5 channels. Using Option key I drag the clip onto the track below, then right click for Clip Attributes, and in Audio tab I change the Source Channel for this clip. When playing back — it's not in sync with the top 4 tracks. Assuming the in-point for this newly created clip didn't transfer over when duplicating.
Workaround: Resync again making sure it adds all five tracks to the video clips and then insert into the timeline all together.
12. In the bins, for timelines, Audio Ch column stays at "2. Even after adding more tracks to the timeline.
Edit: Not a bug, my bad.
13.Fusion for Frozen Frame — goes to first frame of a clip.
If using Freeze Frame in Edit tab, and trying to adjust that clip in Fusion tab — it shows the first frame of that clip. Still frozen image, but not the correct frame. And if going back to Edit tab — it changes there to the first frame as well.
