YIKES
using v15 GM
this is huge --- for me at least
but it would apply to any one doing composites
masking and the like
or multi screen work as I am
If you color correct a CLIP (in "clip" mode not "timeline" mode)
the black background is affected by the top most color correct
this should not be!
my feeling is
the black empty / no footage / no generator should stay black as defined by the settings (e.g. 0 or 7.5 ire or project LUT defined)
below are two screen grabs
the first is slightly color corrected and the black looks "good" (but is not)
the second is this just the blue channel pushed to the extreme as to be seen
the only thing changed is the blue offset
I believe strongly that empty frame should be "system prefs / project prefs" black
If I have a empty void the black should reflect that NOT the current color correct meant for ONE CLIP
again to try to be clear the clip should not define the background base color of the timeline
or said differently -- the non presence of footage should always stay "black"
color correct perclip should stay per clip and not affect some overlaying portion of the timeline
sorry to sound panicy
but this to me seems huge
it means any Black (void of clip) in my timeline is not the same because of an overlying color correct in footage
and there seems to be NO WAY TO FIX IT
any help or tips would be appreciated
perhaps I'm misunderstanding something very very basic
