Exporting a LUT - help and questions

PostMon Feb 01, 2016 1:02 pm

Hi!

So I've been fooling around with Da Vinci 12 and trying to build a few LUTs for recording spaces.

But when trying to export a LUT I've run into some issues. I've been using a downloaded LUT as a starting off point, and done some modifications to it in Da Vinci, but when I export the LUT, it doesn't seem to include the starting off LUT, but only the changes I made. Which is making me sad.

Same thing happens when trying to apply Auto Color, and wanting to export that result into a LUT.

Is Da Vinci not setup to do neither of these things, or am I doing something wrong in the export process?

LUTs will only export primary corrections that you've done with Resolve controls. Loading a LUT doesn't actually touch the controls so they won't go through.

you should be able to include a lut (I did it last week) as long as it is explicit in a node.

so, it will not work in you use "input lut" group lut, timeline luts, output luts.

do a test, and get a clean shot, put your lut and a simple correction and see if it works.

Walter is right. Put the LUT in a node and it should work.

Hi,
I have been trying to export a LUT from Resolve 12 by clicking on the thumbnail in the Color/Colour page and choosing 'Generate 3D LUT' but nothing exports into the designated folder. Any ideas where I might be going wrong?

Hope this is enough info. I have heard that you need to be in a 1080 timeline for this to work - so I am.

Having same issue.

Mac OS Yosemite.

Create a working grade > right click thumbnail in timeline > Generate 3D LUT (CUBE) > Choose folder.

Go through Finder to that folder... empty.

I just tested with Resolve Studio 12.5.6 on Yosemite 10.10.5, and it's properly generating the LUT file.

What version of Resolve are you using? And is it from the Apple App store?

Have you tried saving the LUT to different folder locations?

Are you using any special characters in the LUT file name?

You have to save it in one of the filepath you've specified in preferences

Return to DaVinci Resolve
