Cannot pan clips in any way

PostTue Aug 21, 2018 5:18 pm

Hi

I'm new to DR14 but have years of experience with NLEs. I'm compiling an audio edit and cannot find a way to pan audio clips (as opposed to panning audio tracks - although that isn't working either).

I've gone through the automation options in Fairlight. My timeline lacks the drop down in the header that would show me options to choose the Pan automator. I've tried following tutorials, comments and questions here, and of course the manual, but nothing works. The audio always comes out of the centre no matter where I'm panned to... why can't I just drop some keyframes in and edit this visually in the timeline the way I would in Premiere or before that in FCP?

I've switched to mono tracks only to discover that they only pan 100L, and the control in the mixer pop-up doesn't allow me to do anything about that...

What am I meant to do to change the pan on my clips, in the timeline, without having to faff around with unwieldy live automation that doesn't work?

Thanks!!!

If you are able to, you might want to try Resolve 15. It includes Fairlight and has much better audio capabilities.

Unfortunately I had to go back to Premiere... needed something stable!
