Combining 2 clips into new fusion clip results in blank clip

PostFri Aug 24, 2018 4:36 pm

From the edit tab, I am selecting two clips with a few frames overlapping, and selecting "new fusion clip". This makes a single combined fusion clip as expected, but for some reason the first clip no longer displays. It just becomes a black frame, both in the edit tab, and inside the fusion tab. The second clip does display, but the first one seems to be just... gone?

Has anyone encountered this?

Edit: I'm getting the following warning messages in the log.. Seems like a bug?

Code: Select all
Merge1 cannot get Parameter for Background at time 85
MediaOut1 cannot get Parameter for Input at time 85
Resolve 18 Studio. Windows 11 Pro. Ryzen 2700x. GTX 3060. 32GB 3200mhz DDR4 RAM. ASUS Crosshair x370.

So I think I figured this out. The way the clips come into the fusion tab seem to be incorrect. (I'm new to fusion, so I'm not sure).
I was able to rebuild it to work correctly by adding a background node and another merge.

This is how it comes in by default:

This is what it SHOULD look like (or at least its what worked for me):
