Multicam Angle Sync Sound Never Works

No matter what combination of settings, projects, media, and metadata I've tried, the multicam sync that syncs based on audio waveforms will NOT work for me. It can't even sync a single video clips with a single audio clip. It creates multicam clips all right, but nothing is in sync. I have tried it dozens of times and made a post about it during the 15 beta and have seen nothing change. I use PluralEyes instead and I have to do it in a weird roundabout way to get the XML to import correctly. Is there a trick to this function that I'm not seeing? Is this still under construction? I would use this feature multiple times every single day if it worked for me. Anyone else having no luck?
