External Matte - change speed?

PostSun Aug 26, 2018 11:39 am

A newbie here, getting to grips with Resolve 14. I have been playing with external mattes and find I need to be able to adjust the speed of the matte. Is this possible?

As an example, have managed to import a nice dust particle effect and attach it as matte. But the dust particle clip is too fast and I want to be able to slow down the speed of the matte. I can't find any controls to adjust the playback speed of the matte. As I understand it, mattes can't be dragged to the timeline so I can't adjust the clip speed there.

Do I have to edit the original effect .MOV clip, save it and then add it as a matte again. And repeat this until I get the speed effect I want? I have the same issue with some nice transition mattes - I want to adjust the speed. What am I missing?

Thanks!

Mattes in Resolve's nodes only work 1:1. But Fusion gives you many more capabilities.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.
