Creating seamless transition

PostTue Aug 28, 2018 12:46 am

I am trying to create a seamless (unnoticeable) transition between two clips. Each clip is framed exactly the same, camera is static/unchanged between the two. The only thing moving in the shots is a stream and plants gently blowing in the foreground and background. The transitions I've tried (e.g. dissolves in the Edit tab) are noticeable. Would it be better to somehow use Fusion to do this? Any suggestions for how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your reply Peter. It seems that the Smooth Cut transition still introduces a noticeable blur effect. Is there a way to do this without the blur? Alternatively, is there a way to transition different parts of the image at different times to make it less noticeable?

You can certainly do that in Fusion. Whether that would be better or not, I don't know.

I know how to do it in After Effects, but don't know Fusion well enough to tell you how. I expect it would be a very manual process.

If you are not familiar with Fusion, just make a mask over the areas that move and try a short, animated blur over them. I doubt that there will be a really invisible solution, but maybe you could post a still?
