Create user interface demo

PostMon Aug 27, 2018 10:46 am

Good day (o;

I am thinking about creating a user interface demo where I shoot a short footage using a turn knob with pushing, turning, side pushing and so on...

How would I add in the video an effect so it will look like LEDs or a small screen will shine through the knob?
Or let a ring outside the knob shine up in a specific color?

thanks for helping out a newbie (o;

Okay..statically it works somehow now with just merging a png in the foreground and the video in the background...

Is it easy to place a png in a video but behind a certain object like a hand?

It depends wether you're familiar with roto for the finger, and/or with Fusion, and/or with Mocha in which I'd personally do it...

*Legacy MacPro 8core Xeons, 32 Go ram, 2 x gtx 980 ti, 3SSDs including RAID
*Resolve Studio everywhere, Fusion Studio too

Hmmm...to my knowledge Mocha is quite expensive and works only in Fusion Studio and not Fusion...

Well roto scoping is the next tutorials I have to walk through (o;
Roto scoping also usd for displaying text behind an object?

Mocha is simply the best, but with a lot of patience you can do it in Resolve too.

Read up on Rotoscoping in the manual, it's possible in Resolve to some degree and better in Fusion.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

Hmm...the manual doesn't cover rotoscoping much...only how to draw a mask...
and the kindle ebook I bought hasn't anything fancy (o;

With that skin tone against white, you should be able to create a Matte with the qualifier tool.

Well the matte stuff I quite don't understand (yet ;-)..lots of reading and watching tutorials to do...

So far I ended up with this quickly..though perspective is wrong of the LED stuff (o;
(sometimes hard for me to interpret the english tools and what they exactly mean in german ;o)

Hmm..can I do several different rotoscopes in the same clip or is it advisable to split the clips apart?

Okay...I gave the qualifier tool a chance....much easier...but not so perfect (yet ;o).
Guess lighting has to be better in the next shot ;-)
