BMCC Rec709 vs Rec709 v2 LUT?

I had a question about the exact difference between the "Blackmagic Cinema Camera Film to Rec709" LUT and the "Blackmagic Cinema Camera Film to Rec709 v2". What exactly is the difference between the two? Would there be a circumstance where one might use one over the other? I notice in my scopes that it seems the "Rec709" LUT is legal range and the "Rec709 v2" seems to be full range but I also noticed there is some color rendering differences in the red/magenta tones especially in the highlights? Which one is better from everyone's experience most fo the time?

Or from anyone at BMD I would just love to know the exact differences as skin tones seem slightly better in the regular "REC 709" version vs "v2". I just always assumed the older "Rec709" was for backwards compatibility and the "Rec709 v2" was just the better version to use. Thanks.
