Whenever I upload rendered video from DaVinci Resolve to social media (Twitter or YouTube) the audio sounds totally corrupted.
The audio is of two people talking (interviews), but the corruption makes it impossible for listeners to discern any speech. The corruption sounds like a metallic white noise like something from The Matrix movie. Prior to around four weeks ago I successfully used the same workflow to upload videos to Twitter and YouTube without issue. The issue might have appeared with a switch to use a new version of DaVinci Resolve (although my memory is hazy on this).
When viewing the rendered movies on my local machine in QuickTime or as local videos on iPhone or iPad, the audio is fine. The corruption is only detectable after upload to Twitter or YouTube.
Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?
I have tried different versions of Resolve 15 from beta through to the latest, without change.
My hunch is that there is some latent corruption in the audio that the Twitter/YouTube encoding process exposes.

Current DaVinci Resolve version: 15.0.1.003
Hardware and settings are as follows:
- Rode NTG4+ mic
- Connected directly to a BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera (Yes, I know the audio circuitry in the BMPCC is poor, but I have successfully used it before.)
Settings on the camera:
Microphone input: 30%
Ch1 and Ch2 Input Levels: Mic
Ch1 Input: 30%
Ch2 uses Ch1 input: No
Ch2 Input: 30%
Speaker Volume: 100%
In the Fairlight audio tab of DaVinci Resolve I changed the folllowing settings in order to boost volume, remove distortion and reduce the hissing from the BMPCC internal audio I circuitry.
1. I normalised the audio levels (right click, normalise audio levels, -5 then -2)
2. I decreased the volume sliders on the Mixer for both ”Audio 1” and ”Main 1” to about -13
3. On “A1” I applied a low-pass filter to remove the BMPCC audio-circuitry hissing sound.
Render settings:
Audio
Codec: Linear PCM
Bit Depth: 16
“Render one track per channel” is NOT checked
Output Track 1: Main 1 (Stereo)
Video
Format: QuickTime
Codec: H.264
Resolution: 1920 x 1080 HD
Frame rate: 24
