Hi everyone
I'm new to DaVinci Resolve and I've already run into a problem.
When I render my project the audio comes out with lots and lots of random cracks and pops.
Keyword here being random. I've probably made 40 renderings by now and the cracks and pops turn up in different places in the rendered video. They do seem to prefer certain scenes though but where they turn up is random.
My source video files have no such cracks and pops in the audio. The source audio format is AAC 16bit 48000Hz stereo. When I play the files in the media importer it does play with cracks and pops but again in random places. If I restart Resolve and play a file in media import I sometimes get a clean play through and if I immediately render then that scene will come out having clean audio but then others will have cracks and pops. If I play the project in edit mode then there's no cracks or pops.
If I right-click and extract the audio inside Resolve then all of the extracted files have clean audio as well. But even if I render audio only to wave or other formats then the random cracks and pops are back.
I thought about using the extracted audio since those work but I can't find a way to replace the audio in the video files with the extracted versions. Resolve seems to only support replacing the entire video file including the audio and that doesn't solve the problem. Replacing the audio by hand in edit mode would probably work but that would not be a feasible workflow.
I'm assuming it has something to do with variable bit rate but I can't change the bit rate strategy in the render options since it's greyed out and locked to constant bit rate.
I'm out of ideas and suggestions are most welcome
