I am using the latest release version of Studio and this is the first time I have run into the issue since I am using Resolve for a task I would have otherwise used Premiere. My timeline has a video/audio track that starts at 23:59:00:00 - I am testing an audio finish I am working on from Nuendo as a 2 ch. 16/48 wav file, and lay the test audio track on the timeline. I have it set up where the new audio track will start at 23:59:00:00 so the visual editor simply has to place this on his Premiere sequence at the very beginning (same TC start) and everything should line up correctly, which it does as I have tested this as well. I duplicated this timeline spec in Resolve but to my surprise the new track would not play on the timeline. There was no meter activity either. When I went to the Fairlight screen the clip doesn't show at all - as though it is not there. After some sleuthing I have come to get around this issue (meaning it does now audibly play back) by simply moving the clip start to 24:00:00:00 - and the clip reappears in Fairlight. Now as for Fairlight, even when all of the clips are visible (including the video track) nothing plays, in fact I cannot even move the playhead to the middle of the clip. It seems as if having a timeline start before 00:00:00:00 is causing problems. Having timelines start at 23:59:00:00 is common practice to accommodate a 2-pop audio/visual alignment aid as well as other non program material. Has anyone else experienced this? (FWIW I re-edited this post to reflect the correct start TC - I simply mis-typed on the original post)
