DR15 Studio Final - RFX Match Move Bug

PostSun Aug 26, 2018 11:22 pm

It appears attempts to track footage using this plugin causes DR15 Studio to hard crash on Win10 64bit. nVidia 1080ti machine. Attempted to track various clips of Panasonic GH4 footage in various new projects as a test with single trackers. Crashed every time.

Bug reporter launched in every case. I did submit that but thought I'd post it here too.

It may be that Match Move effects is old school. I recall in the Resolve 15 promo video that a sign on a wall was replaced in the Fusion tab. Match Move, from version 14 is a composite task and in version 15 we now have Fusion.

My problem is I have no training in Fusion.

Does anyone know of a tutorial on how to engage Fusion for motion composite tasks?

Thanks,

Agreed. This is something I would typically do in Fusion Studio. A quick match move inside of DaVinci for minor things would be nice but if it's not going to be fixed or is deemed redundant because of Fusion functionality then the ResolveFX Match Move should be removed.

Does it work with non-H.264 material? Try converting the GH4 files to DNxHD (or DNxHR) and see if it works.

I haven't used match move, but I have used the Patch Replacer several times for minor fixes and it's been flawless.

That sounds like a great suggestion. I will give it a shot and let you guys know how it works out. Thank you!
