I used an external tool to synchronize audio because I had more luck with it than with Davinci's sync. The timeline imported fine but now I ended up with a long timeline of random (but synchronized) footage. I have one video track and two audio (original camera and audio from recorder).
I'd like to bring clips from the timeline with matching audio back to the media pool and do my selects from there - possibly creating subclips in the process.
Is there a way to achieve it? What is a normal process of importing and organizing footage like that? Maybe some macros as a last resort?
I guess I could cut and link the video and audio manually and export (render) as separate clips but this risks compression. Original footage is AVCHD mts files.
Cut the timeline into distinct clips, and with linking turned on drag each clip separately to the media pool. This will create a compound clip of A/V, which you can work with in other timelines "as is" or decompose to the original constituent clips either after or during the process of adding them to another timeline.
I can see how this will work for syncing a very limited number of clips. But what about hundreds? Any ideas of batch cutting and moving to the media pool?
