as the title says... there are quite a few steps in the workflow
feature, 104 min, Dci2k timeline, ArriRAW sources
live save turned on
on machine #1, conformed / fixed and media managed to a NAS, DRP saved
on machine #2, indexed media on NAS, opened DRP
on machine #2 rendered fusion caches on the local DAS, and gradeing started, DRP saved every few hours
copy of the cam orig + DRP to VFX editor offsite
VFX editor sent DRP back with revised timeline
opened VFX editor's DRP on machine #2, did not index the media, copied timeline
opened master project, pasted timeline, Resolve now says it cannot save master project
opened a DRP i had saved just before copying the VFX timeline, nothing lost
opened VFX project, this time i indexed the media, copied VFX timeline
pasted VFX timeline in restored master project, Resolve is now happily saveing
gradeing on machine #2, throughout the day i was loseing kb shortcuts, highlghts stopped working other than mouseing the UI, copy/paste and re-set viewer shortcut also stopped working, they would come back after a re-start of the software for maybe an hour or so, but then fail again
just as i was finishing screening reel 6, in the last scene i selected six shots and selected "remove from group"
the machine thought for maybe 30-45 seconds, and when it came back every grade in the entire timeline was gone, all 1500 shots
Ctl-z did not bring the grades back, it seems to do nothing
i saved a DRP (v5.6 F'dup)
then restored the DRP (v5.5) i had made an hour earlier
the saved stills related to v5.6 also are gone, and the related project folder is no longer in the gallery
looking at orphan stills also shows nothing after v5.5
i'm ok moveing on with the saved v5.5 DRP and a rebuild of the last hours work
i'll be moveing onto 15.1 on the weekend if this film is completed tomorrow as planned, so not really fussed about some one off weirdness in an older version, but thought it worth mentioning in case there's a common thread with someone else's issues that could be helpfull
