Replacing Partially Blocked Object

PostWed Sep 26, 2018 12:59 pm

I want to replace a moving Object 1 with Object 2. Object 1 is sometimes partially blocked (sometimes most all of it) by some other objects. When I track Object 1 with a polygon, that polygon sometimes outlines the entire object, sometimes only the smaller areas visible due to the sometimes blocking of it.

When I try to apply the tracking data to Object 2, when the tracking polygon is smaller (i.e. when Object 1 is partially blocked), won't that mess up what the track data does to Object 2? Make it smaller since the tracking envelope is smaller?

Thanks

You already asked the exact same thing in this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=21&t=79637

And answer is exactly the same as there. You are trying to apply a tool you fancy instead of thinking what you actually need to do to get where you want to get. Your objective is to replace object 1 with object 2 not do tracking. You might need tracking, you might not.

That answer didn't seem to apply.

From what I can tell, I can't animate the object as it moves in an irregular way. And it is blocked off and on. How do I animate without doing it frame by frame? There are hundreds.

I had already done some tracking in the Color page. I tried to copy the tracking data from 1 clip to a still that will be animated by the tracking data. So I copied it from clip 1, then tried to paste the data on the still. The data shows up, but the object selected does not move. Only the power window outline does.

How does 1 copy and paste tracking data in the Color page?

Thanks.
