Stopping a render

I'm reporting an everyday annoyance : stopping an ongoing render seems to produce a temporary Resolve meltdown.
When I click "Stop" at the bottom of the Render panel, the app because completely unresponsive for 5-15sec, and the render still runs. And my crash-fearing-anxiety level rises... Until it stops and the UI becomes responsive again.

Could be nice to have it stop more quickly and neatly.
Or am I the only one seeing this ?

Happens to me as well

same for me; woud be great also to "pause" a render; or better stop & restart at the intermediate end point, even after closing & reopening a session !
