Colour Problems; Video vs. Full levels

PostWed Oct 03, 2018 12:01 am

I'm in a pickle.

Here's the situation; Our production office is new to DaVinci, and we've been editing our feature in post for a few months now. How we've been doing it is having different projects for the different departments (Sound Design, Foley, Colour, etc.). Now we are moving everything into master projects and using proxy's to help with the weight of everything.

THE PROBLEM; I've been colouring the RAW clips with the project settings being video, or auto which is what it reverts to. And the proxy's were done in full. So when I colortrace from my colour projects into the master projects, the colour is off.

It looks like it's mainly just tone that is effected, but this effects quite a bit, especially the qualifier work I've done. There are a few clips where colour has drastically changed, and it probably has to do with them being Apple Prores files.

So I know the problem, but the solution is what I'm looking for. Is there a way to convert the colour from video to full?

Thanks.
