How to find a Clip-Name in all Timelines of a project

PostTue Oct 02, 2018 12:32 pm

Hi.
1) I have several timelines in the project that are nested.
Example:
Vacation-2018 // Master timeline exported as movie.
___Europe
_____England
_______London
_______Coastline
_____France
_______Paris
_______Normandy
___USA
_____New York
...

2) There are clips (video, WAV, title) that appear in several timelines.

3) How can I find a particular clip by its name in ALL timelines to replace it there etc.? I'm thinking of the possibility offered by Adobe Premiere:
After entering the clip name, a selection list is displayed. If an entry is clicked in this list, the corresponding timeline (sequence) is displayed and the playhead is placed at the beginning of the clip.

I'm grateful for any tip on how to proceed in Resolve-15.1 to find ALL clips - without having to manually search each timeline individually.
Thank you in advance
Kurt

You can use Edit Index to filter out timeline events.

Let's say you're looking for a source clip by the name "TheCaste.mov."

Load a timeline, one at a time. In Edit Index enable filtering by clicking on the magnifying glass. Switch the drop down menu to "Name" and type in "thecastle.mov" into the search box.

The event list will show if any clips in the timeline contain this string. Click on the event and the playhead will cue to it.

Hi.
Thanks for your answer.
I knew this "single" search strategy.
But if I have e.g. 25 timelines, then I have to repeat this search 25 times ?????
So I hoped to find a more smart solution than having to search 25 times 25 timelines. :-)
