I’m looking to do a start to finish edit in Resolve 15. We are shooting Canon RAW and I would like to find a way to edit offline with Resolve. My desired way of doing things is to generate hi res proxy’s (minimum 4K prores 422), edit offline (meaning original RAW files are not available), and then reconnect RAW files for the final grade and delivery. So far the best workflow I have come up with is to generate Optimized Media. But when I disconnect the RAW files, the optimized media plays back, but the clips and thumbnails all present as Unlinked Media. This is not ideal, as I would like to be able to see the media I’m working with while I’m editing. I have experimented with some workflows on my own, but I thought it would be best to ask the advice of more experienced users. I’m a little frustrated so far, because FCPX and even Resolve have (more or less) push-button proxy workflows. I’m starting to think that Resolve does not. Help!
