Blackmagic Raw Audio drift problem

PostTue Oct 09, 2018 8:22 am

Hey Everyone,

I'm in the midst of writing a indie film with my team, this is our first film and we want to record behind the scenes of our process as something to look back on and maybe even release on the side for this project! I believe I will be shooting this film in BM Raw, I so far love it! My only issue is that when recording our behind the scene writing sessions, we leave the camera recording the entire session, so we have 2-3 hours of footage in each clip. We use a Sound Devices 702 at 48Khz 24bit for our audio and have the camera record at 24 fps in BM Raw 12:1, the audio syncs in post with no drift, that is the audio from the 702 and URSA Mini Pro; HOWEVER, the audio from the URSA Mini Pro ITSELF (and therefore 702) doesn't match the footage by an Hour and fifty-two min into the timeline, the footage itself is off by 15 frames (I know this cause I clap at that moment and the waveform spike is 15 frames in front of the frame of my hands being together). Anyone else have this issue? Any way to fix it without making edits to re-sync audio manually every couple of minutes? Resolve's Project timeline is set to 24fps.

Thanks For Your Time,
Jose Martinez
