AMD and Intel CPU's News for Resolve Users.

PostTue Oct 09, 2018 8:13 pm

Hi.

I will like to start with the information from AMD. The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2970WX 24 Core and Ryzen Threadripper 2920X 12 Core HEDT CPU's is Launching on 29th October. Same day, AMD Adds Dynamic Local Mode to the Threadripper 2990WX and 2970WX. Dynamic Local Mode is implemented as a Windows 10 background service that measures how much CPU time each thread on the system is consuming and act accordingly. Here are some links:

And a better, but longer link here:

Yesterday Intel Announces the X-Series Basin Falls Refresh CPU's manufactured in 14nm++. Have up to 18 Cores and ships in November. Here are some links:

Yesterday Intel also Announces the Xeon W-3175X. A 28 Core 56 Threads CPU manufactured in 14nm++. Ships in December. The Asus ROG Dominus Extreme motherboard have a two 24-pin ATX 12 V power connectors, so I expect it to use dual power supplies. Here are some links:

But did you remember the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities. The new Top Intel 28 Core 56 Threads CPU still have a Firmware and not a Hardware solution for the Meltdown Variant 3 and 5. I wonder why?
