smooth playback or lack thereof

PostTue Oct 16, 2018 3:54 am

Okay, so I've been editing a music clip in Premiere Pro using the original .MXF 3840 x 2160 camera files from my C200. Absolutely zero trouble with playback while editing. Incredibly smooth. I export the .XML to grade in Resolve 15 but want to finalise the edit as well while I'm in there. This is where DaVinci has a long way to go in catching up to Premiere and that it won't be a real editing alternative till it does. Playback is useless. Okay, I know, make optimised files. I don't need to do that in Premiere. I would love Resolve to be the full package because it has so much potential, but it's not there yet.
