Resolve Won't always start and is slow but wasn't always

PostFri Feb 26, 2021 10:42 am

Hello, I'm experiencing issues with Resolve and I would be very grateful if someone could help me out.

For a couple of months now I have had issues where Resolve doesn't always start. It shows the splash and 3 out of 5 times it will just disappear and not show the library. It also disappears from the task manager at that point.

Once the library does open I can load a project but performance is much slower than I remember from a while ago (on the same machine). I'm not exactly sure how long I've had these issues, but at least a couple of months now. I don't really know of a major change in my setup which could have caused the issues. It just seemed to experience issues from one day to another.

I run the latest GPU drivers and have had this issue across multiple versions of Resolve. Today I upgraded to the latest release of version 17 hoping it would solve my issues but it didn't.

The only really unique thing about my setup is that I only have a Cintiq as a working monitor (Cintiq 27QHD (2560x1440@59Hz)).

Below are some basic specs but I also attached a zip with the dxdiag export and a system .nfo.

It was the webcam all along!!

PostSat Feb 27, 2021 7:27 am

After posting yesterday I gave this some more thought and suddenly realized there was one thing which had changed. I had bought an Aukey PC-LM1 webcam.

I hook this thing up to my Cintiq side USB port and when I do, Resolve won't start most of the time and when it does it's really slow.

Removing the webcam fixes everything (or, that's what it seems like after one day).

I'll leave this up in case it helps anyone else. I guess the question now becomes... is there a way of leaving my webcam plugged in but not breaking Resolve?
