Possible Audio Bug in DR17 Studio

PostThu Feb 25, 2021 6:28 pm

I just upgraded to the final build of Resolve 17 Studio from 16 Studio.

When I opened my project that has 4 multi-cam clips sync'd, my audio was fine and playing through both stereo channels.

I looked around the new program and went to the fairlight tab, and went back to the edit tab, my main audio is only playing from 1 speaker, the other is playing an out of sync clip from one of the other camera angles.

I did this with another old project and got the same results.

If i go into the multicam clip on its own timeline, the audio is fine. It is only trashed on the multicam.

Any ideas on how to recover this. I have not had any luck.

I think I've got the same issue after the upgrade to DR17 (Linux/Fedora 33). The multicam clip's audio has very loud "static", generally seems to be missing the left channel, and even seems to contain contain audio from completely unrelated clips.

I found a webpage which seems to describe the same issue and with a workaround of "flattening" the multicam clip. Seems to work but since I'm not clear on the purpose of "flattening", I'm unsure what the side-effects may be.

That sounds like the same issue. Indeed, flattening does make it sound right but you lose the ability to edit the multicam cuts. It is treated as one angle with 1 audio source using whatever you picked in the edit.

I submitted a help desk ticket. They said it is the first they have seen this issue. I would encourage you to submit one as well. If enough bring the issue to light, they would be more inclined to fix it and not consider if a 1 user anomaly.

Send an export of your project file as well as all the info on your computer.
Thanks,
Tommy
